Complete with a bow tie, this adorable penguin is an elegant little eye catcher. The shell pieces in the brooch catch and reflect light with blues, greens and purple tones. The shells are set on a black background surrounded by a border of sterling silver. Marked "Mex CC 925" on the back, this piece was made in Mexico. This is a very collectible piece, as the mid-century artists making jewelry in Mexico were renowned for their skills and designs.

The clasp on the back is very securely fixed to the brooch, but we worry it isn't stable for keeping the pin closed. Although it doesn't look to be missing any pieces and stays on relatively well when held on fabric please be mindful that it could open.
