This tie clasp is designed to look like the sword is stabbing through the tie. It was made by the Swank Company, which began producing men's accessories in 1897 and remained popular with the dapper man well into the 1970s. This particular sword Clip/Clasp was very stylish in the late 1940s and into the 1950s. Swank tie clasps are again popular and catching the eye of style-conscious young men.
