Sterling Silver Ring with Oval Bezel Set Turquoise in Beaded Rim, the perfect gift for the boho lady with a love of the Southwestern style. This ring is all sterling silver with a genuine oval turquoise setting.  The ring has a very faint marking, which is most likely the .925 designation or a signature mark.  It is not unusual for a mark to fade with wear, as sterling silver is a soft metal, and marks slowly disappear with wear.  The oval beaded design encircling the stone with little conchos on the left and right of the band is typical to find on rings made in the Southwest. This lovely, simplistic turquoise ring may have been purchased from a Southwestern Indian Reservation Trading Post in the 1950s or 60s. The art of making silver adornments flourished on the reservations up until the 1960s.  Americans vacationed by car, through the US on traditional 2 way highways, like the famous or infamous "Route 66". When the highways passed near reservations, the American Indian artists set up roadside areas for tourists to buy their wares.
