Silver Teardrop Earrings with Channel Set Pink Quartz Gemstones - Vintage Artist Made - Southwest .925 Trade Jewelry

This wonderful pair of sterling silver earrings was created in a teardrop shape crowned with a stunning pink quartz gemstone. The wire hooks are also sterling.  When inspected closely, the earrings have all the hallmarks of hand worked silver. The cut and bevel of the teardrop is a little imperfect, the basket holding the stone has a silver channel which is not regular and smooth, and the hand work to polish the silver finish moves in many directions, all indicate the touch of an artist. The style and materials lean towards a southwest artist, maybe an indigenous or tribal person selling at an outpost near a reservation. It was common to see trading posts all over the Southwest for 60 years.
The earrings have not been cleaned due to the stone settings. They should not go into silver polish, but a good scrub with toothpaste and warm water using a soft toothbrush will make them perfect!
