This bold, but fashionable statement necklace is adorned with hammered metal plates with a turtle shell appearance. This chunky turtle shell look is consistent with some of the early Brutalist Modern jewelry made by the jewelry companies trying to mock the more severe handmade Brutalist pieces, which were popular in the 1960s-70s. The necklace hangs 9" long when clasped, and is 18" when laid out, see photos. This necklace is in good condition with only slight wear (see photos). It can safely be cleaned with a little toothpaste and a soft toothbrush, then rinsed with warm water and dried with a soft cloth. It would look great with a black or denim shirt.
