Hobé Owl Pin with Glass Topaz Jelly Belly Center - Mid Century, Figural Brooch

What a hoot! This gold Hobé Owl brooch, with a glass Topaz jelly belly center and eyes, is in very good condition with only a couple of scratches on the belly. Hobé is marked as a 14k gold-filled pin with faux topaz for the eyes and belly. 

Hobé Et Cie was founded in 1887 in France by goldsmith Jacques Hobé. His son, William Hobé in 1927 established American companies, Hobé Button Co., and then Hobé Cie Ltd. The Hobé's specialized in goldsmithing costume jewelry. In the 1940s and 1950s, big names such as Ava Gardner and Bette Davis wore Hobé Cie.
