It was produced at a critical time in the history of the United States, when 2 World Wars bookended each other. Many couples were split up as the 2 wars raged in Europe, many lost lovers, thus, lockets, such as this one, became very popular to give and receive. The length of this piece is 2.25in, and it has a width of 1.25in when closed (2.5in when open). The hinge and clasp are both perfectly functional, and the insides are padded with pink paper. The locket does show general signs of wear, including scratches and some tint deterioration along the inside (see photos). Despite this, the item is still perfectly sweet, with its face depicting flowers and a heart framed by lace. This could secretly hold a new set of lovers.
