Celluloid Victorian Style Cameo Brooch

This fabulous and rare brooch features a faux shell cameo, which in reality is molded celluloid with a celluloid painted background. It is very unusual as it has two rhinestone settings. The rhinestones represent the Victorian woman's earring and necklace. The metal surround looks to be tin, and has no marking. It is elegantly embossed to capture the Victorian era style of cameo, and most likely produced between 1875 and 1890. The brooch measures 2" x 1.5" with a C-clasp pin.

This cameo is in great vintage condition for its age, with very limited damage or wear. There is a slight wear to the portion of the cameo where the inlay of paint is for the necklace chain. See photos.
