Celluloid and Crystal "Happy Bird" Pin/Brooch

The body of our beautifully sculpted bird and the leaves with it are Pearl celluloid. The eye, tail, and curved part of the pin or brooch are decorated with sparkly rhinestones. Celluloid was invented around the 1840s and was used in many varied products through the 1950s. Celluloid was popular in jewelry because of its visual resemblance to natural materials such as pearl or amber. This pin or brooch would make a lovely accent on a hat, scarf, or shirt!
