Abalone Setting In Sterling Silver Hat Pin - Sterling Silver Stick Pin For Man's Ascot- Victorian Hat Pin

Are you, or someone you know, in love with the glow of abalone shells? This wonderful early 1900s Hat Pin is made with sterling silver, and the mother-of-pearl shines brightly in the light! In the late part of the 1800s and into the early 1900s, every lady had a collection of hat pins to hold her hat safely in place.

This pin is a very pretty piece and will benefit greatly from a gentle cleaning, I would start with a soft tooth brush and a little tooth paste, carefully scrub the entire pin and head, then use a soft cloth to polish until it shines.... do not submerge the abalone setting in any silver polish, and do not let the head soak in water as the setting may come off. This is in great vintage condition for its age and would complement any hatpin collection.

This pin measures just around 2 7/8" and the decorative mother of pearl measures 3/8" x 7/8".
