Abalone Shell Earring and Pin/Pendant Set.
This is A Beautiful Set of Earrings with matching Pendant/Pin. The pendant is covered with a large piece of abalone shell, which covers the entire hexagonal shape with just a line of alpaca silver around the outside and on the backside. There is a silver loop on the back to use the pendant as a necklace. Just put it on any plain silver chain you may have, or use the pin back on the pendant, and wear it as a brooch. The pin-back works fine but the bar has a tiny bend, which does not affect the use. (see photos).
The Silver teardrop earrings have a smaller teardrop of abalone shell set at the top in a raised silver bezel setting. This is a very special set of Jewelry. The abalone shell just shines in the light and has the most beautiful pinks, greens, blues, and yellows.
The pin/pendant is stamped on the back with a Maker's Mark "alpaca". Alpaca silver comes from Mexico and isn't really silver but instead a high-quality alloyed metal which looks and wears like silver. The earrings are stamped ND 925, showing they are sterling silver. ND is a signature of Chapal-Zenray jewelry company founded in 1974.
