Genuine Top Grain Leather 36" Belt with Indigenous Bead-Work Buckle

If you are looking for a handmade gift which will start a conversation, look no further. This listing is for a beautiful piece of craftsmanship. The belt is a size 36" and crafted from, high-quality brown leather. The outside of the belt has a classy, woven basket weave design, and the inside certifies its quality with the words, "Top Grain Cow Hide" (see photos). The serial number is also stamped within and reads, "2637." The focus of the piece, however, is the hand beaded buckle. At 3.5in wide and 2.5in tall, this oval buckle was created with leather and decorated in green, blue, red, orange, and yellow cut glass beads. The triangular pattern at the center is consistent with designs from the indigenous groups in the American Southwest. The belt was part of an estate belonging to a collector of Native American items, but it is not known who the creator was nor is it signed. Handmade items, like this belt, are often worn at local Pow Wows as part of costumes for dance performances. A beautiful item with minimal imperfections, this belt is ready to be shown off.
